I would be in favor of having participating in a FEH owner’s get together in the Detroit area of Michigan if others are interested… If we had enough folks, maybe we could encourage some folks from Ford to attend to give us input as well as us give them input! They can certainly learn what drives this market by listening to those that already drive these vehicles!

Please post here if you would want to participate in this meeting in the Detroit area. If we have enough interest we can discuss the agenda, contacting Ford, the site location (I may have access to a downtown location), and any logistics we need to cover.

Curious how the escape hybrid mechanism works. Is it like the Prius that completely goes electric at times, or the Civic from what I understand needs you to keep the brakes depressed otherwise the gas goes? Do the different Ford model years use different technologies? Thanks in advance.

I just recently heard a rumor that Ford will be discontinuing its Mercury brand of cars. Does anyone know if there is any truth or substance to that rumor? I am in the market for a new car and have been looking very closely at purchasing either an ‘09 Mercury Mariner or Mariner hybrid, so I am very curious to find out whether or not the vehicle will even be around for much longer. If anyone has any details they could share or has heard anything to either substantiate or disprove this rumor, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I finally received my Cloud Rider "breeze" covers, so I thought I’d post a picture. They are a minor pain to install, but the only real issue I have is that they came with normal (steel) screws. I’m going to have to cover up the screw heads with some kind of black. Also, the black powder coat is special order and takes about 6 weeks. But I thought the black would look better with the Kiwi Green.

I was thinking it was a mistake to put them on, but when I was installing the lowest screen, I observed that the radiator has already taken a couple of small rock hits. So I suppose it is worth the hassle.

As a novice Hybrid driver of a 2006 Ford Escape I would be appreciative in input for driving techniques… I’ve read some about pulse and glide which I don’t fully understand yet… (is glide going into neutral or just letting off the gas pedal?) And I know and have read the obvious about gradual starts, coasting to stops, etc.

When to use L gear?

What is double tapping? How to use it?

How to force into EV mode?

What is forcing a shift and when to use it?

I changed all my filters, checked and increased air pressure in tires, so give me your input!

Simply put. I can’t find it. :confused: Looked in what I think is the ’08’s CAF spot but can’t seem to find it. The user guide said it’s the same model # but no pix or anything…..

Is it possible to change out the 6-disc in dash CD changer in an ‘08 FEH with the ‘09 Nav unit with the Microsoft Sync stuff?

I’ve been toying with that idea, but I’m not sure if it’s possible or even worth the cost to do that.

Went to shift from LOW into DRIVE on the expressway without paying attention and overshot; ended up in PARK. What happened? Although I thought the transmission would fall out, actually only thing that happened was that I could not shift back into DRIVE while I was moving forward (although I could drive normally). Pulled over into breakdown lane, stopped, shifted, and took off again.

i talked to nav teq today and they said there is an update coming in late august tru some time in september i explkain to them my nav is show the wrong house number at my house when i sit in the drive way and at my brothers house. my feh is at the dealer being fixed right now so i am having the dealer check out the nav but nav teq is going to send me something in the mail when the update is available i will post when it is check this post from time to time and watch for the available date when the update will be ready.:shade:

Its a great incentive if you can find one on a lot.

I just had a brief chat with my employer’s fleet manager, and he stated that the 2009 Escape Hybrid was sold out as far as Fleet sales were concerned. Can anyone confirm?

I am looking for a link to see the specs, trim levels on the older FEH’s from years 2007 and earlier to learn the different options and what was standard per year (brochures would do). Any link to this information would be appreciated.
